This Is Houston
This Is Houston is a 501(c)3 focused on saving animals in need throughout the greater Houston area. They rescue animals who have often been abused and with serious medical needs. They rehabilitate and care for these precious lives and then find them awesome forever homes. We strongly encourage you to check them out and consider getting involved or supporting them financially.

World Wildlife Fund
The WWF's mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. They collaborate with local communities to conserve the natural resources we all depend on and build a future in which people and nature thrive. Together with partners at all levels, they transform markets and policies toward sustainability and protect and restore wildlife.
Americans For The Arts Action Fund
Americans for the Arts Action Fund (Arts Action Fund) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit and the only national arts advocacy organization dedicating 100% of their time, money, and political clout to advancing the arts in America. Their mission is to mobilize one million citizens in advocating for the arts and arts education around the country so that everyone has access to the arts.
Kiva
Luke is a Kiva trustee, and he had a great experience with the Kiva platform and his social entrepreneur sponsorship. As a result, we encourage others to use this compelling platform to help other social entrepreneurs who have a strong social mission of good for their community.
Opera Columbus
Luke was a longtime Trustee on the Opera Columbus Board of Directors. The mission of Opera Columbus is to advance the experience and the art of opera.
They also have a goal of equity, diversity, and inclusion to create programming through a thoughtful, intentional, process rooted in inclusiveness, authenticity, and representation of diverse voices and perspectives.
About Luke Westerman
Luke is an award-winning entrepreneur and a devoted animal advocate. He is passionate about building dynamic businesses, guiding talented entrepreneurs and helping animals in need.
He has coached countless animal welfare organizations, lectured at universities and business seminars, mentored entrepreneurs and lead and inspired movements to make life better for animals and their people.
Luke credits his dedication to animal welfare to his 16 year-old hurricane rescue dog, Franky.
After rescuing his first dog in 2008, Luke has devoted a large part of his life to helping animals. From fostering and adopting his own dogs, to volunteering and donating to countless animal rescues, to his work lobbying elected officials on various animal welfare issues, to successfully running a large No-Kill animal shelter. He is always looking for opportunities to positively impact animals.
Many of the non-profits Luke supports are animal welfare organizations that serve animals and their people. But Luke also cares deeply about the arts. He is a painter himself and has served as a board member of several organizations including Opera Columbus.
